i think we should come up with a food list soon! maybe to make things easier, we'll ask everyone to post here what they wish to contribute. in case they're not sure, we should also put up a possible list of what we should have during the party. here are my suggestions:
1) pasta/fried rice/noodles: 1-2 servings
2) chicken wings! (always the party staple): 1 serving
3) drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic): 6 bottles non-alcoholic, as for alcohol, it's more expensive so it depends on who can contribute...
4) a giant turkey/ham would be nice but those things are so darn expensive. those roasted/bbq chickens from cold storage can be nice though
5) sausages? nuggets? er, that's the standard party faire it seems.
6) dessert! i recommend ice cream, which i can provide since i live there and i can put the ice cream in the freezer so it won't melt... someone can buy root beer so we can have floats!
7) anyone up for ordering pizza? we can make our own too...
8) er. what else do you guys like to eat??
9) chips?
10) mashed potatoes!
11) sandwiches but that's not really for dinner right??
okay, that's all for now. i think we should just put that list up and whoever can contribute what's on it, please submit your names and we'll post it so we'll know who's bringing what. if you want to contribute something that's NOT on the list, fine also but please tell asap because if everyone contributes chips, it'll be quite silly lah.. can't live on that alone.
also, i have a question. for whoever's arranging the money-collecting and all that, are we just contributing a sum and then dividing it amongst ourselves according to how much we paid or what? cause some things definitely cost more than others, eg alcohol etc. so yeah.. how?
and how abt theme etc? i'm ok with a theme but i think we're running out of time so it's ok if we don't have one!
please also think of games and entertainment. movie marathon is fine but yeah, any other games besides that? something that can involve everyone maybe instead of just a few ppl playing BRIDGE (ok, ok, i know it's fun lah and you guys can play but try and involve everyone?).
er. think that's all... this blog needs more publicity! not sure everyone knows abt it...
